Northwest Missouri Central Labor Council staff members worked six days a week for the majority of December, staying as late as 8 p.m. on some days to ensure everyone in St. Joseph gets Christmas.
“It’s a Christmas miracle. It takes a lot of people doing lots of work,” Penny Adams said. “We get to see the families come in when they get their gifts, and they leave here in tears. They are so thankful and appreciative. I always tell folks if you’re down in the dumps at Christmas time, come hang out with us because it will lift your spirits and make you understand the meaning of Christmas.”
